The welded and bondedupper is made of high-quality, breathable microfiber and features a rubber toe cap. A secure ratcheting N-1 buckle closure and two Velcro® straps provide a perfect fit to optimize power transmission. The offset strap "D-Ring" at mid-foot ensures a better pressure distribution and eliminates pressure points.
The DuPont® Zytel™ nylonoutsole made of nylon and fiberglass is stiffer than traditionally nylon outsoles with the same weight. It also features high traction lugs, a mid-foot scuff guard and can be equipped with steel toe spikes (not included).
The molded EVAfootbed features a medium arch support to prevent fatigue and the Aegis® anti-microbial treatment to keep the shoes odor-free.
TheN-1 buckle is adjustable in 3mm increments to tension the strap, with a quick release by simply depressing the upper and lower levers simultaneously. The design allows grit to be cleared easily for reliable function on- and off-road, and it has a low stack height. It offers two mounting positions and a guard that helps to prevent unwanted release of the buckle, and is compatible with Giro's previous shoe designs should a rider need a replacement.
